Children’s Picture Book Round Up

It’s been a while since I’ve reviewed picture books that have recently been released, so this weekend, I read some books to my kids to get their feedback. Here’s what we found!

ME AND MY MAMA

This is the perfect Mother’s Day book to read with your kids.

Me and My Mama by Carole Boston Weatherford is an adorable rhyming book about all the reasons why children love their mom.

If my kids got this for me for Mother’s Day, I would melt into a puddle of love 💙💜 My kids (3 and 6) enjoyed the rhyming, and being able to read it to me! The illustrations kept my kids looking at the page and helped my son figure out what words were on the page. A great read!

GOOD NIGHT TO YOUR FANTASTIC ELASTIC BRAIN

It’s time for a science lesson as we look at the second book in my picture book round up. Good Night to Your Fantastic Elastic Brain by JoAnn Deak is perfect for school libraries and science classrooms in elementary schools, or for kids who love learning about their body in detail!

This story goes into detail about how our brains work, what happens when we sleep, and then all over again when we wake up and remember yesterday!

This one is for older children, and even adults! I learned some things while reading this one to my daughter! She’s a science lover and is at the age where she is trying to figure out how everything works. This was perfect for her to understand without getting too technical!

THINGS I DO

My kids love the Cánticos books, so we read the latest books in the series.

Things I Do helps to teach children about verbs, senses and feelings. All phrases are written in both English and Spanish, and helpfully comes with correct pronunciation guides. The books have flaps to lift to discover what the chickies are doing!

SEASONS

In Seasons, we look at what the chickies are wearing, and guess which season applies. This book also contains flaps and pronunciation guides as well!

My kids really enjoyed these and would like to learn more Spanish!

Thank you to all of the publishers for free digital copies for review! All opinions are my own (and my kid’s opinions as well!)
